Saratogian Donna Cameron was the first resident to call and share her excitement of yesterday's rare snow geese sighting. Like a lot of onlookers, when Cameron first spotted the geese in the West Avenue field she thought the area was covered in snow. She called our newsroom to alert us of the phenomenon: "I've never seen them here before. They come from Canada and usually fly along the Connecticut River to down south...the closest they've been seen has been the Tomhannock Reservoir (in Troy) but never this many, just a few."
