Saratoga Bridges received over $6,000
(NET) at the 6th Annual Joyce Spratt Memorial Golf Outing on Saturday,
September 29, 2012. 100 golfers wearied the rain to play at Brookhaven
Golf Course in Greenfield, NY.
Joyce
was a loving wife and mother of 4 boys and sadly passed away after a battle
with cancer. Her son Christopher is the Vice President of Saratoga Bridges’
Foundation Board and had this to say about the event and why they chose to
support Saratoga Bridges, “Losing her at the age of 46 from cancer was
devastating for all of those whose lives she touched. This tournament is to
celebrate her life and for her friends and family to get together and laugh and
have fun. We have chosen to donate the proceeds from the past two years to
Saratoga Bridges. My brother Todd has a
learning disability and Saratoga Bridges has done so much for our family throughout
the years, it was a natural choice. My family and I know that she (Joyce) would
be so proud that this money is being used to help individuals with disabilities
and their families.”
As one of the largest non-profit
organizations in Saratoga County, Saratoga Bridges has been providing the
highest level of services and programs to 800 people with developmental
disabilities and their families for more than 55 years by promoting their
abilities and achievements in every aspect of community life. Individuals strive to realize their goals,
hopes and dreams as they work, shop, play and volunteer while leading full,
productive and contributing lives. Saratoga Bridges philosophy is that every
day is full of possibilities!
